Personality ::The best word to describe Reiko is clown. The always happy mare is a complete goof 90 percent of the time and her mother always said she didn’t have a serious bone in her body. In toe with that she’s incredibly hard to offend, since she brushes everything off like a joke. She has a live-life-to-the –fullest attitude, which means that hardly anything gets her down. She’s very good about making jokes about herself and she’ll even make jokes about others, though that can get her in trouble. Other equines are likely to never see any emotions from her but happiness, goofiness and contentment. Of course that’s not the only emotions she feels, she’s just learned to take everything lightheartedly.
Anger, hate, sadness, and a whole spread of other emotions are kept locked up in her heart. Reiko learned to lock all those other emotions away in order to keep herself going. She isn’t a shy mare, but then it’s a pretty rare thing for her to truly open up. While being goofy is part of her personality, she plays it up to avoid more serious attitudes. Still Reiko is incredibly good at finding the bright side of bad situations, though on the rare chance that the mare is having an off day she can also be good at finding the terrible side of things.
Reiko likes just about everything and there’s only a few other equines that she won’t get along with. Most of the things she doesn’t like come from the fact that they pose a bigger challenge to the blind mare. Tree roots, rocks, low branches, holes, forests, tight spaces and soft ground are some of the things she detests.
History ::When Reiko was born, she was nothing more than a normal foal. Living in a large herd Reiko had plenty of other foals to play with and lived a pretty good life. However at only a few months old the filly started running into things and stumbling over rocks. At first everyone though she was just clumsy but when things kept getting worse the elders determined that the filly had a disease. A little after that and a blue tinted white flim had started to grow over her brown eyes. By the time she was a year old Reiko was completely blind and her family was devastated. For a while she stayed with her herd but her antics and blindness became too much of a burden for the herd. Late one night the youngster overheard a group of mares complaining to her dam and going on about how terrible it was that she couldn’t bare another foal because she was too concentrated on taking care of Reiko. The harsh words were too much for Reiko to handle, and like a typical youngster she ran away.
Surviving on her own wasn’t easy and she earned a large amount of little scars from bumping into everything since she no longer had her dam to lead her around. Reiko took on a depressed attitude as she stumbled around the world, helpless. But things changed back just as quickly when she met an old but very plucky pony, named Snowball. The pony took Reiko’s attitude and turned it completely around, bringing out the goofy side of the mare. He also taught her how to get around on her own, what to avoid and how to use her blindness to her advantage. Under his care it didn’t take her long to learn to depend on her other senses, so she wasn’t surprised when he went missing one day. Instead of sulking the mare took Snowball’s leaving as a reason to go on an adventure. Since then Reiko has been wondering on her own, gaining confidence in herself and fine-tuning her skills.
