Personality ::Azure is more of a wary equine. Due to her past, she has trouble trusting others and can often come off as rude and hostile. She isn't going to let anyone put her in her place and will stand up for herself if need be. However, very few equines have to worry about this because Azure is more likely to ignore someone than cause trouble, no matter how proud she is. She feels sorry when ignoring equines that may deserve a chance, but remains anti-social to all, no matter how kind they seem. She is good at keeping her guards up, and isn't going to let anyone in her life unless they manage to sneak past her defenses.
History ::Azure was born at night in a quiet forest. Her mother had been a loner, having been force bred by a dark and needing to go into hiding. The birthing was smooth, and it wasn't long before she was standing on wobbly legs near her dam, getting her first taste of milk. Azure and her mother did lots of moving around, and only when they came across other mares would they stop to play and rest with the other equines. Stallions were quickly avoided, and Azure shared her mother's fear of them. When Azure became a yearling, she began to tire of moving around so much. A mare they came across offered them the safety of a herd, and Azure quickly accepted. Knowing the end of her days were coming, her mother agreed, ignoring her fear of stallions to please her only foal. At first, the lead stallion seemed very kind and protective, immediately taking a liking to Azure and her mother. The young mare sometimes wondered that if maybe she had of paid closer attention, she would have seen just how possessive he was of her poor mother... When Azure's mother refused to give him a foal, he was furious. So in the middle of the night, they decided to escape. Her mother made her promise to never stop running, no matter what; and being the young, frightened youngster she was, Azure agreed. It wasn't long before they were spotted, and after an hour of darting through the trees, they were both tired and clumsy. Ducking behind a large boulder, her mother spoke to her urgently. "Remember your promise," She said to the wide-eyed filly. "Don't leave me, mama. Please don't leave me." Azure whispered unevenly, still gasping for air. "Please, Azure. I love you so much. I promise to find you, but for now you must go." Her mother looked as if her entire being was being split in half. Finally, there was no time to waste; she gave Azure a hard nip in the rump, enough to jolt her senses and send her flying forwards. By the time she calmed enough to turn around, her mother was gone. Azure's feelings were a mix of hurt, anger, and confusion. A ripping sensation gripped her whole being, and she crumpled to the ground, crying out for the one being she really knew and loved. Without her wise mother, she was lost. When she got herself together, she left that awful place behind, to continue the life she should have kept with her mother; the lonely one that kept her safe from all other beings. Whenever things got tough, and equines asked too many questions, Azure simply did what she did best - ran away from her problems. But how much longer can she continue that before her problems catch up with her?
RP Sample ::This is just a part of a post from another site I used to RP on - hope that's alright!
The ebon goddess floated effortlessly through the trees, each movement filled with grace as her hips swayed, not too much, but enough that it was noticeable. Yes, she was totally flaunting it. But she looked good doing it, didn't she? A smile curved on her dark facade as she pranced and weaved her way through the dreary forest. Although she did a good job looking it, delicate was definitely not a word to describe her. Acting was a talent of Lyric's; she was a natural at it. Being a great judge of character, it only took her a minute to figure out what you wanted her to be and played the part effortlessly. In fact, Lyric couldn't remember a time she had actually been herself; sure, she had been cruel and menacing before, but that wasn't all she was. Lyric was also conniving, devious, and very dangerous.
The stench of swamp reached her delicate nostrils, and she snorted with distaste. She hated walking through this dark muck to get to her destination. However, she had been to Crimson Plateau before, and knew there was no other way through. With a disgusted look on her face, she made her way through, tendons reaching high above the ground to avoid as much of the sticky mud as possible. She probably looked quite silly, but the darkness of the trees cloaked her even darker pelt. As soon as she reached the clearing, she retreated to the shadows where there was a small pond for her to clean up in. This place was about getting a fresh start, a new challenge. She had heard about the evil creatures that resided in these lands, and it only excited her more. Lyric loved to play with others and their emotions; it gave her a disguise, and she knew that with it she would never have to risk being played like she had in the past.
When her coat was fully clean, she walked out from the shadows, unique violet orbs squinting in the sunlight. Her black coat glistened as the water ran down her legs , leaving a trail in the dusty rock she stood on. A flirty, almost smug smile rested on her kissers, and she sauntered to the edge of the cliff, absentmindedly kicking stones and bones over the edge of the plateau. Shame if someone were to fall...
Lyric came to the realization that she was alone on the cliff, with only the sound of her own hooves echoing in the empty space. This both surprised and annoyed her; the whole reason she had came here was for the oh-so-devious darks that would seemingly rip her apart. It was exactly the kind of challenge she craved. She held no fear for the evil brutes, because what they had in muscle she knew she could make up for with smarts and quick thinking.
