Personality ::Forsaken is, well...not your typical light, though once upon a time that's exactly what he was, before his life went to heck. He is self-loathing, bitter, sarcastic, and self-conscious, mostly due to what he sees as his monstrous appearance, and the loss of the only two faes who he ever loved. Forsaken is very taciturn and pessimistic. He takes the burden of responsibility very, very seriously, and is extremely protective over women and children, the weak, and those who cannot defend themselves. Forsaken lives his life believing that anyone he cares about will eventually leave him, because that's the only reality he's ever known. Forsaken has a bit of a violent streak, usually brought on by darks exploiting his protective nature over those who cannot help themselves, but his anger is more of a slow burn than a big explosion. He is an insomniac and has quite a case of PTSD, which you will see why in his history
History ::Forsaken was abandoned at birth by his mother, Rain. Found by Nessarose, a flicka only a bit older than himself, he was taken in by Nessie's parents and raised as their own son. When he came of age, he was given the beta position of Sunset Beach, which he held for years. He and Nessie fell in love, and eventually had a son named Paramore, who was a wanderer. A fire came to Sunset Beach, and Forsaken was trapped by the flames as he helped his herd to escape. Badly burned and weak, but alive, he reunited with Nessarose at their friend's terra. Not long after that, Nessarose, who had always sworn to never abandon him, informed him that she was leaving to take her grandmother's place in her mother's old herd. Heartbroken and angry, Forsaken tried to adjust to life without her. A war began to loom, and the darks formed an alliance called the Thieves, dedicated to wiping out the lights. Forsaken was thrust into the uncomfortable role of leader of the Order, the light resistance. During this time, he found love with Eclipse, Nessie's half-sister. Forsaken and his archenemy, Orannis, eventually met on the battlefield during the war and fought, though neither could best the other. However, the death and decay forced the equines to scatter, and Forsaken became separated from his lover and their daughter. And now he is here

I was lost, hopelessly, completely lost. My brothers had played yet another cruel joke on me, taking me into the wilderness and running away so that i couldn't keep up. I was much shorter than them, my legs less long, less able to cover the ground the way they did. They were so talented, so good at EVERYTHING, I couldn't possibly hope to be as good as they were. No wonder my father preferred them to me. I was the failure. I hadn't even been born the right gender for goodness sakes. Not only was I a worthless female, I was the most boring dapple grey color that a horse could possibly be. And of course I was tiny, like a fairy, almost completely worthless for being broodmare. On top of that, I wasn't even really pretty. My good father had told me that so many times, and it had been echoed by my entire family and the rest of the herd, so it must be true. I didn't think any differently, anyway.
This forest was the most scary place I'd ever been. I was used to flat lands, plains covered in all sorts of grass. This place caused my heart to constrict and race, my breath to come in short pants, and my eyes started to see all sorts of boogey men lurking about. A frightened, high-pitched squeal came from my maw as a twig cracked loudly behind me and I lurched into an akward, high-stepping trot, my grey banner flagged in agitation. Oh why couldn't my good brothers come and find me? Tears began to leak from my orbs and I sobbed, immensely sorry I had angered them, for I was sure that that was why they had abandoned me to find my own way home. I had embarassed them in front of their friend from another herd, and this was my punishment. I would rather be beaten than lost and alone.
And suddenly I wasn't alone. A frightening creature was before me, a stag with the strange blue eyes I had always been told meant bad things. I had almost run into him, so I deserved his anger. I flinched away, expecting him to strike me, waiting for the blow, not daring to look at him. My chocolate orbs stared at the ground, as I had been taught to do when adressing my betters.
"Forgive me sire, I did not realize you were here. I did not mean to intrude, only I am so very lost. Could you point the way out for me, please?"
